Diplomats Dunk Shorewomen, 130-69

Miskiel, Howard Lead Shorewomen

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Franklin & Marshall defeated host Washington College, 130-69, in antennal Conference women's swimming this afternoon inside Casey Swim Center.  The Diplomats improved to 3-2 overall and 3-0 in conference meets with the win; the Shorewomen slipped to 2-3 and 1-2 with the loss.

Sophomore Elizabeth Miskiel (Gaithersburg, MD/Quince Orchard) won the 200 breaststroke in a Washington College season-best time of 2:33.15 for the Shorewomen.  She was also second in the 100 freestyle in a WC season-best time of 55.73.

Freshman Alicia Howard (Wilmington, DE/Charter School of Wilmington) scored a pair of second-place finishes in WC season-best times, finishing the 200 individual medley in 2:24.76 and and the 200 backstroke in 2:23.87.

The Shorewomen's 400 freestyle relay team of sophomore Hilary Badger (Baltimore, MD/Mount de Sales), senior Ellen Liebenow (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge), freshman Ashley Maurizi (Reamstown, PA/Cocalico), and senior Morgan Phillips (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle) received first-place points as F&M entered the event as exhibitions only. Their time was 3:59.72.

The Shorewomen return to action December 3rd and 4th at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.
