Glasser, Moore Combine to Win Five Events
SWARTHMORE, PA -- Host Swarthmore College topped visiting Washington College, 116-90, in Centennial Conference women's swimming tonight in Swarthmore, PA. Senior Rachel Glasser (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) and junior Jenna Moore (Catonsville, MD/Mount de Sales) combined to win five individual events for the Shorewomen in the loss.
Glasser won the 1000 freestyle in 10:51.23, the 200 freestyle in 1:57.44, and the 500 freestyle in 5:20.98. Moore placed first in the 50 freestyle in 26.03 and the 100 freestyle in 56.13.
Freshman Carly Ogren (Burke, VA/Lake Braddock), junior Morgan Phillips (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle), sophomore Sarah Sykes (Haworth, NJ/Northern Valley-Demarest), and feshman Hilary Badger (Baltimore, MD/Mount de Sales) won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:53.37 for Washington.
Phillips added a second-place finish in the 50 freestyle in 26.67, while Badger was second in the 200 backstroke in a Washington College season-best time of 2:24.60
The Shorewomen (5-6, 2-5 Centennial) will compete at the Centennial Conference Championships, hosted by Gettysburg, February 18-20.
