Morgan Wins Three Individual Events for Shoremen
SWARTHMORE, PA -- Host Swarthmore College defeated visiting Washington College, 115-90, in Centennial Conference men's swimming action this evening. Freshman Lucas Morgan (Allendale, NJ/Northern Highlands Regional) won three individual events for the Shoremen in the loss.
Morgan won the 200 individual medley in 2:00.95, the 500 freestyle in 5:02.30, and the 200 breaststroke in 2:13.02.
Freshman Eric Burcin (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) and sophomore Austin Yocum (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) each won one individual event for Washington as Burcin took the 50 freestyle in 23.21 and Yocum won the 100 freestyle in 49.36. Yocum also placed second in the 200 freestyle in 1:47.60, while sophomore Greg Lee (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) was second in both the 50 freestyle (23.35) and 200 butterfly (2:04.29). Freshman Charles Logan(Durham, NC/Riverside) placed second in the 200 backstroke in 2:08.35.
The Shoremen opened the meet by winning the 400 medley relay as Logan, Burcin, Lee, and freshman DJ Bradshaw (Reisterstown, MD/Calvert Hall) finished first in 3:43.17.
The Shoremen (4-4, 0-4 Centennial) return to action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home meet against Ursinus.
