Red Devils Defeat Shorewomen, 142-63

Miskiel Wins 200 Breaststroke in Loss for Shorewomen

CHESTERTOWN, Md. -- Visiting Dickinson College won 10 of 11 events to post a 142-63 Centennial Conference women's swimming dual-meet victory over host Washington College this afternoon inside Casey Swim Center. The Red Devils improved to 8-2 overall and 3-1 in conference meets with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 5-3 and 1-3 with the loss. 

Senior Ellie Miskiel (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) won the 200 breaststroke for Washington in 2:31.45, preventing a sweep of first-place finishes by the Red Devils. Miskiel also placed second in the 50 freestyle in a Washington College season-best time of 25.52.

Freshman Ellen Maxwell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) had a pair of individual second-place finishes for Washington, finishing the 1000 freestyle in 11:09.06 and the 500 freestyle in 5:34.84.

Senior Carly Ogren (Burke, Va./Lake Braddock) added a second-place finish in the 100 freestyle in 56.06.

The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a 6:30 p.m. Centennial Conference home meet against Swarthmore.
