Swarthmore Swims Past Shorewomen, 128-77

Miskiel Wins Two Individual Events for Shorewomen in Loss

CHESTERTOWN, Md. -- Visiting Swarthmore College defeated host Washington College, 128-77, in Centennial Conference women's swimming action tonight inside Casey Swim Center. The Garnet improved to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in conference meets with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 5-4 and 1-4 with the loss. 

Senior Ellie Miskiel (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) led the way for the Shorewomen in the loss, winning both the 100 freestyle in 55.61 and the 100 breaststroke ion 1:10.56. Freshman Ellen Maxwell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) accounted for one individual first-place and two individual second-place finishes. Maxwell won the 1000 freestyle in 11:19.54 and was second in the 200 freestyle in 2:02.16 and in the 100 backstroke in 1:03.05.

Senior Carly Ogren (Burke, Va./Lake Braddock) added a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle in 5:28.78 and was second in the 50 freestyle in 25.71.

The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m., Centennial Conference meet at Ursinus.
