Green Terror Trump Shorewomen, 57-37

Miskiel Wins 100 Breaststroke in Loss for Shorewomen

WESTMINSTER, Md. -- Host McDaniel College improved to 7-5 overall and 4-3 in Centennial Conference meets with a 57-37 win over visiting Washington College in the women's swimming dual-meet finale for both schools this afternoon in Westminster, Md. 

Senior Ellie Miskiel (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) supplied the Shorewomen with their lone first-place finish as she won the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.70. She also placed second in the 50 freestyle in a Washington College season-best time of 25.42. Senior Carly Ogren (Burke, Va./Lake Braddock) was second in both the 1000 and 100 freestyles in 11:18.56 and 56.86, respectively. 

Sophomore Julianna Fritzinger (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion Area) added a second-place finish in the 400 individual medley in 4:59.37, freshman Angelina Tomasura (Toms River, N.J./Toms River South) placed second in the 100 butterfly in 1:02.71, and junior Ashley Maurizi (Reamstown, Pa./Cocalico) took second in the 500 freestyle in 5:51.62.

The Shorewomen, who finish the dual-meet season 5-6 overall and 1-6 in conference meets, will compete at the Centennial Conference Championships February 21st-23rd at Franklin & Marshall College.
