Portmann Wins Three Individual Events for the Shorewomen
WESTMINSTER, Md. — The visiting Washington College women's swim team won seven of 11 events en route to a 56-39 Centennial Conference win over host McDaniel College in the dual-meet finale for both teams this afternoon in Westminster, Md. The Shorewomen finish their dual-meet schedule 5-6 overall and 2-5 in conference meets, while the Green Terror finish 2-8 and 1-6.

How It Happened
- Julia Portmann was a triple-winner for the Shorewomen, taking the 1000 freestyle in 11:09.07, the 200 freestyle in 2:02.33, and the 500 freestyle in 5:27.03.
- Ellen Maxwell won both the 200 individual medley in 2:16.10 and the 100 backstroke in 1:02.49 and led off the winning 200 freestyle relay team. She joined Katie Gorman, Anna Schmittle, and Mackenzie Gaze for a first-place time of 1:44.39.
- Jenni Clune won the 200 breastroke in 2:33.90 and placed second in the 100 freestyle in 55.51.
- Gaze finished second in both the 200 freestyle in 2:04.14 and the 100 butterfly in 1:05.44. Gorman touched the wall second in the 50 freestyle in 25.62.
