Elliott Wins Pair of Events on Senior Day
CHESTERTOWN, Md. — The Washington College men's swim team finished its dual meet season with a 113-86 Centennial Conference victory over visiting McDaniel College on Senior Day today inside Casey Swim Center.

Shoremen Highlights
- The Shoremen held a 113-55 lead heading into the final two events, the 100 breaststroke and 400 freestyle relay, before switching their entries for those events to exhibition only.
- Seniors Pat Elliott, Danny Furman, Brent Hochstein, and Jason Mercando were honored before the meet. Elliott won the 200 freestyle in 1:46.48 and the 500 freestyle in 4:53.99. Mercando was second in the 50 freestyle in 22.71 and joined Karl Melchior, Finny Dorsch, and Cody Weiler to post the fastest time in the 400 freestyle relay at 3:20.91.
- Aidan Sullivan became the Shoremen's ninth-fastest swimmer ever in the 200 individual medley with his time of 1:59.84. It was the first time this season a Shoreman had completed that event in under two minutes. He was also second in the 100 backstroke in 55.11.
- Brendan Jones won the 1000 freestyle in 10:20.97 and was second in the 200 individual medley in 2:01.54. Weiler won the 50 freestyle in a Washington College season-best time of 21.61 and was second in the 100 freestyle in 49.85. Kevin Mackenzie won the 100 freestyle in 48.17 and had the second-fastest time in the 100 breaststroke at 59.99. Ty Cummings won the 100 butterfly in 53.74.
- Dave Rovansek was second in both the 200 freestyle (1:48.56) and 500 freestyle (5:02.86).
Notes
- The Shoremen finish their dual meet schedule with a 4-5 overall record and a 2-4 conference mark. The Green Terror finish at 2-6-1 and 0-6.
