Shorewomen Swim Past Seahawks, 111-94

Relay Victories Key Shorewomen's Win

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. — Wins in both relay events helped propel visiting Washington College to a 111-94 win over host St. Mary's College of Maryland in non-conference women's swimming action tonight at the SMCM Aquatic Center.

Shorewomen Highlights
- The Shorewomen opened the meet with a winning time of 4:20.60 turned in by Savannah Quade, Alex Searles, Anna Hall, and Anna Schmittle in the 400 medley relay. They finished off the meet with a win in the 400 freestyle relay as Teresa Draves, Julia Portmann, Alexa Luecke, and Schmittle turned in a time of 3:47.64.
- In between the two relays, Portmann swept the distance events by winning the 1000 freestyle in 11:03.00 and the 500 freestyle in 5:20.35. Hall won the 200 butterfly in 2:21.70, while Luecke won the 100 freestyle in 56.32 and was second in the 200 freestyle in 2:00.54.
- Draves was second in both the 400 individual medley (4:58.37) and the 200 backstroke (2:19.01), while Schmittle was second in the 50 freestyle (26.37).

Notes
- The Shorewomen improved to 2-4 with the win, while the Seahawks dropped to 2-3 with the loss.
