Shorewomen Beat Sea Gulls for 32nd Straight Time, 127-76

Six Different Shorewomen Win Individual Events

SALISBURY, Md. — Visiting Washington College won its 32nd consecutive meet over Eastern Shore rival Salisbury University in women's swimming as the Shorewomen defeated the Sea Gulls, 127-76, tonight at Maggs Pool.

Shorewomen Highlights
- The Shorewomen won eight of 11 events against the Sea Gulls as six different Shorewomen won individual events in the victory.
- Allison Gallagher, Emily Homer, Anna Hall, and Julia Portmann opened the meet by winning the 200-meter medley relay in 2:13.16.
- Portmann claimed both the 200-meter freestyle in 2:14.83 and the 100-meter butterfly in 1:12.41.
- Markey won the 800-meter freestyle in 10:05.73 and was second in the 100-meter freestyle in 1:05.60. Alexa Luecke won the 400-meter freestyle in 4:48.77 and placed second in the 200-meter freestyle in 2:15.39.
- Anna Schmittle claimed the 50-meter freestyle in 29.38, Hall took the 200-meter individual medley in 2:35.83, and Homer took the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:24.13.
- Alison Buckwalter was second in both distance events - swimming a 10:33.02 in the 800-meter freestyle and a 5:08.58 in the 400-meter freestyle. 
- Teresa Draves placed second in the 200-meter individual medley in 2:38.04, Emma Silber was second in the 100-meter butterfly in 1:13.27, Haleigh Seek took second in the 100-meter backstroke in 1:15.82, and Alex Searles finished second in the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:24.15.

Notes
- The Shorewomen lost their first-ever meeting against the Sea Gulls, but haven't looked back since and are now 32-1 all-time against their rivals. Washington is now 1-3 this season, while the Sea Gulls remain winless at 0-4. 
- The Sea Gulls' home venue, Maggs Pool, features a 25-meter pool rather than the more usual 25-yard pool found at most NCAA schools.
