Cardinals Pick Up Non-Conference Win Over Shorewomen, 146-116

Portmann, Hall Combine to Win Five Events for the Shorewomen

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Catholic University defeated host Washington College, 146-116, in non-conference women's swimming this afternoon inside Casey Swim Center. Julia Portmann and Anna Hall combined to win five events for the Shorewomen in the loss.

Shorewomen Highlights
- Portmann won the 1000 freestyle in 11:12.97, the 500 freestyle in 5:30.72, and the 200 freestyle in 2:01.99. Hall won the 200 butterfly in 2:22.08 and the 100 butterfly in 1:03.04
- Teresa Draves picked up the Shorewomen's other first-place finish on the afternoon, winning the 200 breaststroke in 2:37.37. She was also second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.27 and the 200 individual medley in 2:18.63.
- Alexa Luecke placed second in the 200 freestyle in 2:02.84 and the 500 freestyle in 5:32.57. Anna Schmittle was second in the 50 freestyle in 26.51, while Alex Searles was second in the 200 breaststroke in 2:39.99. 

Notes
- The Cardinals improved to 5-1 in dual meets this season with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 3-6 with the loss.
- Hall was named the Goose Nation TV Shorewomen Swimmer of the Meet.
