Every year the Office of Student Engagement honors it's outstanding organizations and student leaders through a formal awards ceremony. Every student, club, organization, faculty or staff advisor at Washington College are eligible as they recognize them for outstanding leadership at the college. 

During this past 2018-19 academic year the Esports Club was honored with the New Program Initiative Award. This award honors an individual or recognized organization that attempted to create a new campus program. The Esports Club was recognized for their successful use of innovative ideas that have made a noticeable impact on the Washington College Campus.

The truly amazing part is that the Esports Club has only been a recognized organization for three months. On February 12, 2019, the Esports Club went from zero to 50 members in one evening. Since then, they have formed four teams and two of those teams competed against other collegiate programs. Along with the games, the club also boasts it's own broadcasting team and production crew. Currently the Esports Club boast over 70 members, has it's own Twitch channel, holds community events on campus and looks to continue to grow every semester.
