NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Washington College men's tennis team competed this weekend at the CNU Invite on the James T. & Sarah C. Eyre Courts hosted by Christopher Newport to open its fall season. The Shoremen competed against host Christopher Newport and Virginia universities Shenandoah and Virginia Wesleyan.

Jorge Urgal Zuleta highlighted the Shoremen's performance in singles, going 2-1. In the gray quarterfinals, he topped
Anton McCloskey of Shenandoah, 6-0, 6-1, and also netted a win over
Peter Karanski of Christopher Newport, 6-3, 6-2.

Johannes Ludwigstorff also got a win in the gray quarters, topping Karanski, 2-6, 6-3, 10-4.

Aaradith Ravichandran gained a victory in the royal consolation semifinals, downing Shenandoah's
Artem Babaiev, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3.
Doubles
- Ravichandran and
Tichi Chivala got 8-6 victory over Virginia Wesleyan's
Carlos Rullan and
Hubert Parawa.
