NEWPORT NEWS, Va.  – The Washington College men's tennis team competed this weekend at the CNU Invite on the James T. & Sarah C. Eyre Courts hosted by Christopher Newport to open its fall season.  The Shoremen competed against host Christopher Newport and Virginia universities Shenandoah and Virginia Wesleyan. 

CNU Invite

Singles
- Jorge Urgal Zuleta highlighted the Shoremen's performance in singles, going 2-1.  In the gray quarterfinals, he topped Anton McCloskey of Shenandoah, 6-0, 6-1, and also netted a win over Peter Karanski of Christopher Newport, 6-3, 6-2.
- Johannes Ludwigstorff also got a win in the gray quarters, topping Karanski, 2-6, 6-3, 10-4.
- Aaradith Ravichandran gained a victory in the royal consolation semifinals, downing Shenandoah's Artem Babaiev, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3.

Doubles
- Ravichandran and Tichi Chivala got 8-6 victory over Virginia Wesleyan's Carlos Rullan and Hubert Parawa.
