LANCASTER, Pa. – The Washington College women's swimming team opened its 2024-25 season this afternoon at the Kunkel Aquatics Center in a Centennial Conference quad meet hosted by Franklin & Marshall by going 2-1. The Shorewomen bested Ursinus 168-86 and Dickinson 144-111, while dropping a 146-114 result to host F&M.

Shorewomen Highlights

Kylee Smith won the 200-yard butterfly (2:15.03) and was second in the 100 freestyle (54.61).

Brooke Bailey netted second in the 200 freestyle (2:00.93) and 200 backstroke (2:13.86).

Vanessa Fry earned a second place result in the 100 breastroke (1:11.55) and 200 breaststoke (2:41.09).

Mackenzie Gorman gained second in the 100 butterfly (59.54).

Lauren Paules captured third in the 500 freestyle (5:30.56) and 1000 freestyle (11:16.28).

Julia Banker took third in the 200 backstroke (2:14.62) to give the Shorewomen two of the top three performers in the event, in addition to placing third in the 200 individual medley (2:20.33).
- The 400 freestyle relay team of Bailey, Gorman, Paules and Smith captured the relay in 3:40.60.
- The 200 medley relay quartet of Bailey, Fry, Smith and Gorman landed in second with a time of 1:52.73.
Notes
- The Shorewomen are 2-1 overall and in the Centennial. The Diplomats are 3-0 overall and 3-0 in the Centennial, the Red Devils are 1-2 and 1-2 respectively and the Bears are 0-3 and 0-3 respectively. In the other results of the quad meet, F&M topped Dickinson (145-111) and Ursinus (156-101) and Dickinson bested Ursinus (138-109).
