FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Host #27 Mary Washington topped visiting Washington College, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Tennis Center in non-conference women's tennis action. It was the opener for both teams.

Doubles
- The Eagles won all three doubles to take a 3-0 lead.
Hana Kimmey and
Amanda Hagino topped
Eva Kading and
Soleil Namunyola at No. 1, 8-1. In No. 2 doubles, Mary Washington's duo of
Linda Demitroff and
Riley Smith prevailed 8-2 over Washington's
Carrie Lord and
Piper Sartison in the last doubles match to finish. Third doubles was a walkover win for the home team's
Olivia Geohegan and
Jacey Copeland.
Singles
- No. 5 singles was played during doubles and WC's
Isabella Sorhegui topped
Madison McCarty, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4, for the Shorewomen's first win of the day.

Evie Snyder notched a walkover win at No. 6 singles for the Eagles.

Addison Felts won at No. 1 over Sartison, 6-0, 6-0, securing the match win for Mary Washington.

Alexandra Jaksec took a three-set win at No. 3 singles over
Eva Kading, 6-3, 1-6, 10-7.
- Geohegan nipped Lord 11-9 in the third set in the tiebreak after forcing the tiebreak with a 6-2 win in the second set. Lord won the first set 6-2.
- In the last match to end, Namunyola topped Copeland at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 4-6, 10-5.

- The Eagles are 1-0 on the season, while Shorewomen are 0-1.
- Mary Washington is named for the mother of George Washington.
