ORLANDO, Fla. – Ohio Northern downed Washington College, 7-2, on Tuesday at the USTA National Tennis Center in a non-conference women's tennis match.

Doubles
- The Polar Bears overcame losing the first match to finish against the Shorewomen to win two of three in doubles to lead 2-1. No. 1 doubles was the first to finish and the Shorewomen's
Isabella Sorhegui and
Soleil Namunyola downed the Polar Bears'
Abby Cruser and
Jamie Hurst, 8-4. Second doubles was the next to conclude and Ohio Northern's
Jenna Bell and
Julianne Sheldon bested Washington's
Eva Kading and
María Cristina Diaz Nazario, 8-5. Â The Polar Bears' tandem of
Katie O'Connell and
Miranda Wills edged the Shorewomen's duo of
Piper Sartison and
Carrie Lord, 8-7, winning the tiebreaker 9-7.
Singles
- Sixth singles was awarded to
Molly McLane who won in a walkover to push the lead to 3-1.
- In first singles, Bell took both sets from Namunyola, 6-4, 6-2, to put Ohio Northern on the cusp of winning the match.
- Hurst secured the win for the Polar Bears in a 6-0, 6-4 victory against Sartison.
- Sheldon got the better of Lord at No. 5, 6-2, 6-4.
- Kading got Washington's victory in singles at No. 3 over Cruser, 6-3, 6-4.
- O'Connell nipped Sorhegui at No. 4, 7-5, 6-4, to finish the match.

- The Polar Bears are 9-3 on the season, while Shorewomen are 1-4.
