SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Host #36 Swarthmore, seeded third in the Centennial Conference Tournament, topped visiting sixth seed Washington College, 5-0, on Tuesday afternoon in the first round of the conference tournament on Faulkner Courts.

Doubles
- Swarthmore won all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 advantage into singles.
- The Garnet's
Lola Diaz and
Kathleen Shiffer were awarded the victory at third doubles as the Shorewomen were unable to field a duo.
- Swarthmore's tandem of
Nathalie Williams and
Erica Stutz won 8-2 victory over Washington's tandem of
Eva Kading and
Soleil Namunyola at No. 1 doubles in the second match to finish.
- The hosts' two-some of
Spencer Watts and
Oviya Kumaran made it a sweep for the home side with an 8-2 win over the guests'
Piper Sartison and
Isabella Sorhegui at No. 2.
Singles
- The Garnet clinched the match due to the Shorewomen not having players available at No. 5 and No. 6 singles to make it 5-0 as the match was played to decision.
Notes
- The Shorewomen finish 5-13 on the season, while the Garnet, ranked ninth in the region improve to 11-5. Swarthmore will visit #29 Haverford, the second seed, on Thursday in the semifinal round of the conference tournament.
- Washington was competing in its third straight conference tournament and 14th overall as the Centennial Tournament started in women's tennis in 2006.
- The Shorewomen's two seniors this season were
María Cristina Diaz-Nazario and Sartison.
