Banker Records Two Shorewomen Swimming Program Record Times at F&M Invitational

Washington Places 11th out of 13 Teams at Invite

LANCASTER, Pa. – Sophomore Julia Banker (Chadds Ford, Pa./Kennett) registered the Washington College women's swimming team's all-time fastest times in the 200-yard backstroke and 400-yard individual medley at the 2025 Franklin & Marshall Invitational held Friday morning through Sunday evening at the Kunkel Aquatics Center. The Shorewomen finished 11th out of 13 teams at the three-day invite that consisted of schools from Division II and Division III of the NCAA.

Shorewomen Individuals That Scored Points
- Banker, who became the program's record holder in the 400-yard individual medley in last year's invitational, broke her own best time in the 400 individual medley final in 4:36.15 on Saturday night, which was good for second place and the top Division III finisher. She eclipsed her previous best by 1.14 seconds which was set at the 2025 Centennial Conference Championships. On Sunday night in the 200 backstroke, the sophomore moved into the top spot in program history in the event with a time of 2:09.33 for a 10th place result. In the preliminary round of the 500-yard freestyle on Friday morning, her time of 5:14.24 put her into eighth place all-time at Washington and is now in the program's top 10 in six different events. The sophomore ended up finishing 11th in the final in 5:16.11 on Friday night. On Sunday morning in the 100 individual medley, she improved her third best time in team history with a mark of 1:02.74, which was good for 11th overall.
- Brooke Bailey was fifth on Sunday evening in the 200 butterfly (2:10.31) for her highest finish at the invite. The sophomore on Saturday night earned 10th place in the 100 backstroke in 59.61 and 14th in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.40 with the result being good enough to move up one spot in the squad's all-time top 10 to seventh. In Friday night's 200 individual medley, the sophomore landed in 17th in the event in 2:11.38.
- Kenzie Gorman entered the top 10 in the 100 IM with a time of 1:03.34 on Sunday morning and is now fourth all-time at Washington in the event. She was 13th in the event.
- Lauren Paules earned points for WC with 14th place in the 500 freestyle on Friday night, swimming the race in 5:18.75 and on Saturday evening was 16th in the 200 freestyle in 1:59.33. On Sunday morning in the 1650 freestyle, the senior was 17th in 18:36.52.
- Vanessa Fry chalked up 22nd in the 200 breaststroke on Sunday night (2:34.20) and 24th in the 100 breaststroke on Saturday evening (1:11.20).

Shorewomen Relays That Scored Points
- On Friday night, the 400-yard medley relay squad of Banker, Fry, Gorman and Bailey were 15th in 4:05.33. Banker's time of 1:01.29 in the 100 backstroke portion of the relay places her eighth all-time in team history.
- Later in the night on Friday, the 200-yard freestyle relay foursome of Gorman, Ellie Seip, Paules and Sarah Seale finished 16th (1:41.62).
- On Saturday evening, the 800 freestyle relay side of Banker, Paules, Gabby Bonds and Bailey was 12th in 8:08.53 and the four of Seale, Seip, Maggie Boyle and Mollie Kravitz-Yoffee landed 18th in 8:51.97.
- Also on Saturday night, the 200 medley relay team of Bailey, Fry Gorman and Paules earned 17th with a time of 1:52.14 and the quartet or Bonds, Banker, Seip and Seale were 22nd in 1:55.85.
- On Sunday night in the 400 freestyle relay, placing 13th was the quartet of Bailey, Seip, Paules and Gorman (3:41.79) and earning 24th was the four of Banker, Seale, Bonds and Jordyn Gutshall (3:49.33).

Notes
- Swarthmore won the invite with 1,189 points, 2.5 points better than second place Bloomsburg (1,186.5). Kean was third (1022), followed by Rowan who placed fourth (964). Fifth through 13th was Mary Washington (821), Dickinson (637), Kutztown (564.5), East Stroudsburg (521), host Franklin & Marshall (510.5), Millersville (505), Washington College (336), Shippensburg (310.5) and Bryn Mawr (56). Bloomsburg, East Stroudsburg, Kutztown, Millersville and Shippensburg are Division II programs, the rest are from Division III.
- In individual events, swimmers who finished first through eighth were in the A Final, ninth through 16th in the B Final and 17th through 24th in the C Final.  Swimmers were placed in each final based on preliminary time. The only events that were an exception to this were the 100 individual medley and 1650 freestyle where there was just a final.
