Shorewomen Fend Off Bears, 16-15

Tobin Chambers Records 100th Career Goal

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Washington College Women's Lacrosse Team secured their second Centennial Conference win of the season in a 16-15 win over Ursinus. The Shorewomen advance to 6-6 overall and 2-1 in Centennial action.

How It Happened

  • Anna Wilson scored the first goal of the contest off a pass from Valarie Rock just 3:31 into the game. The Shorewomen went on to score the opening six goals of the game, with Tobin Chambers and Mia Salvatierra scoring twice, Lexi Vennera scoring once, and Wilson scoring her second goal. 
  • Wilson finished off a first quarter hat trick, securing her third goal of the first period with 1:48 remaining. The Shorewomen were ahead after one quarter, 7-3. 
  • Salvatierra scored an up goal in the second quarter to resume the Shorewomen momentum. Vennera also scored her second goal of the game before Chambers added her 100th career goal with 7:32 remaining in the half. The Shorewomen took an 11-6 lead into the intermission. 
  • 32 seconds into the third quarter, Salvatierra scored an unassisted goal to put Washington up 12-6. 
  • Chambers and Vennera logged third quarter goals alongside a down goal from MaryCate Anson off a pass from Salvatierra with 3:05 remaining in the third quarter. The Shorewomen carried a 15-11 advantage into the final quarter. 
  • The Shorewomen only added one goal in the fourth, an unassisted goal from Salvatierra with 4:37 remaining. The Shorewomen survived a late comeback attempt by the Bears, 16-15.
