#8 Garnet Take Care of #48 Shoremen

Two Teams Will Meet In CC Tournament Semifinal on Thursday

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Host #8 Swarthmore, ranked second in the Atlantic South Region, bested visiting Washington College, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference men's tennis action at the Michael Mullan Tennis Center. The Shoremen will be the four seed in the upcoming Centennial Conference Tournament and will travel to the Garnet in a rematch on Thursday afternoon with time to be announced on Monday morning.

Doubles
- The Garnet grabbed all three doubles to win the point and lead 1-0. Second doubles came to a close first with a 6-1 win for the home team's Kai Chen and Andres Fente, ranked sixth in the region over Aaradith Ravichandran and Oskar Wroblewski. The top flight ended next and Swarthmore's Michael Melnikov and Purushotham Koduri, ranked fourth nationally and first in the region, tallied a 6-1 victory over the Shoremen's Tichi Chialva and Sihoo Kim. Third doubles was last to end and it was also a 6-1 result for Swarthmore.

Singles
- Third singles was the first match to come to a close and it was 6-0, 6-0 decision against Demir Isiker.
- At the top flight, Melnikov, ranked 10th nationally and second in the Atlantic South, scored a 6-1, 6-2 result versus Kim to make it 3-0 for the home side.
- Max Lindstrom, ranked 44th in the country and 10th in the region, secured the victory for Swarthmore versus Ravichandran in a pair of 6-0 set wins.
- The last three matches were pro sets with No. 6 finishing first and it was an 8-0 win for the Garnet against Julian Sealy.
- No. 5 singles was the penultimate match to finish as Swarthmore took an 8-1 score versus Kohl Perkins.
- In the last match to finish, No. 4., the Garnet tallied an 8-2 result versus Jorge Urgal Zuelta.

Notes
- #48 Washington is 10-8 on the season and finish the conference slate at 4-3, while #8 Swarthmore is 13-5 and finish the Centennial schedule 7-0.
- The seeds for the upcoming tournament are 1-Swarthmore, 2-Haverford, 3-Franklin & Marshall and 4-Washington College.  The other semifinal on Thursday will be #38 F&M at #17 Haverford.  The winner of the semifinals will meet on Saturday, May 3 at the highest remaining seed.
