CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting #5 Dickinson captured a 4-2 win over host #4 Washington College on Wednesday afternoon at Schottland Tennis Center in the Centennial Conference Women's Tennis Championship First Round match.

Doubles
- The Shorewomen netted two out of three in doubles to earn the point. Washington's No. 1 team of
Eva Kading and
Soleil Namunyola won the first match to end in a 6-2 result. The Red Devils evened doubles at 1-1 as they took No. 2 in a 6-3 win versus
Sofia Sperandei and
Jayda Browne. The doubles' point came down to No. 3 and it was WC's
Isabella Sorhegui and
Gaby Coutts jumping out to a 4-0 lead and holding off a Dickinson charge to win 6-4 to give the home side the point.
Singles
- The top flight was the first to wrap up and it was a 6-0, 6-2 score for Dickinson against Namunyola.
- Dickinson grabbed a 2-1 lead with a pair of 6-0 wins at No. 6 over Coutts.
- Sorhegui evened the match for the Shorewomen with a 6-2, 6-4 triumph at third singles.
- The Red Devils grabbed No. 2 singles in the fourth match to finish, 6-4, 6-3 versus Kading to put the road squad one win away from the victory.
- No. 4 singles was the clinching win for Dickinson in a 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 6-3 result over Browne.
- Fifth singles was the only match not to be played to completion with the Red Devils ahead 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 5-2 when the match was determined.
Notes
- The Shorewomen finish their season at 8-9, while the Red Devils improve to 12-6. Dickinson will travel to top seed and 23rd ranked Swarthmore on Friday.
- Today was the first home conference tournament for the Shorewomen since a 5-1 victory over Franklin & Marshall in the first round on May 2, 2018.
- Washington reached the Centennial Tournament for the fourth straight year this spring.
