OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Visiting Washington College outscored host Stevenson 8-0 in the third quarter to take command of the game in a 14-10 win on Saturday afternoon at Mustang Stadium. The Shorewomen won their fifth straight season opener, while the Mustangs slip to 1-2.

How It Happened
- The two teams were tied 2-2 after one quarter with
Anna Wilson scoring from
Piper Evans to tie it at 1-1 with 6:10 left in the first and
MaryCate Anson leveling it at 2-2 from Evans with 1:33 to go in the stanza.
- Washington scored the first three goals of the second to take a 5-2 lead with 7:06 to go before halftime on a
Mia Salvatierra goal from
Anna Wilson.
- Stevenson countered with the last four of the second and took a 6-5 advantage into halftime with the go ahead score coming with 18 seconds left.
- The Shorewomen dominated the third quarter, outscoring the homestanding Mustangs 8-0 to take a 13-6 lead into the fourth. Evans tied the game at 6-6 to start the run 4:38 into the third and Wilson put the road side ahead 7-6 just 72 seconds later.
Mia Salvatierra capped the scoring in the third with 44 seconds remaining on an unassisted finish with 44 ticks left.
- Stevenson outscored Washington 4-1 in the fourth to provide the final margin with the last goal coming with 3:15 left in the game by the Mustangs.
