KERRVILLE, Texas – Visiting Washington College opened its spring break with a 6-1 win at host Schreiner on Monday afternoon at the George & Frances Cree Tennis Center in a non-conference women's tennis match.Â

Doubles
- The Shorewomen took all three doubles matches from the Mountaineers to net the doubles point. WC's duo of
Isabella Sorhegui and
Gaby Coutts earned a 6-1 result in the first match to finish. The No. 2 tandem of
Jess Wilde and
Juanita Arbelaez grabbed a 6-1 win to secure the point for Washington. The Shorewomen's top flight team of
Soleil Namunyola and
Eva Kading capped the sweep in a 6-2 score.
Singles
- Arbelaez coasted to a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1 to give the Shorewomen a 2-0 lead..
- Third singles was a 6-3, 6-0 win for Kading over Schreiner.

Sofia Sperandei put the match in the win column for Washington in a 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) triumph.
- The Mountaineers got their first win in a three-setter against Namunyola, 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 2.
- Coutts handled Schreiner's No. 6 in a 6-0, 6-1 triumph.

Jayda Browne overcame a first-set loss to win the last two sets, 1-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-6), in the last match to be completed at No. 6.

- The Shorewomen improve to 5-2 on the season, while the Mountaineers drop to 1-4.
