Chestertown, MD- Washington College's Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics, Thad Moore, named Heidi Pearce the head women's golf coach.

Pearce will focus on recruiting and growing the women's golf program while continuing to serve as Athletics Advancement Officer.

"We are thrilled to welcome Heidi back as one of our coaches," says Moore. "Her recruiting background and passion for golf made her the ideal fit as we look to build the program."

Pearce is entering her 12th year at Washington College. She formerly served as Director of Alumni Engagement before transitioning to Athletics Advancement Officer this summer. Earlier in her College career, Pearce served as head women's lacrosse coach and was named Centennial Conference Coach of the Year in 2014 and 2018. In her first season, she guided the Shorewomen to an 11–5 record, the program's best in 11 years, and a No. 17 national ranking.

A former student-athlete at Johns Hopkins University, Pearce became the first player in program history to earn NCAA Division I First Team All-America honors. She was inducted into the Johns Hopkins Athletics Hall of Fame in 2016 and the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame in 2018. Pearce also has lifelong ties to golf and the Chestertown community. A 44-year member of Chester River Yacht and Country Club, she is a former CRYCC Women's Club Champion and currently represents the club in Women's Peninsula Golf Association competition.

"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead the women's golf program at Washington College," Pearce said. "Coaching has always been an important part of who I am, and golf has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I am excited to grow the program and create an experience where young women can develop as students, athletes, and leaders."

Pearce will work alongside PGA professional Dan Philippon, who will continue to provide golf instruction and support the development of Washington College's golfers.
