The Equestrian Club at Washington College is open to all students, regardless of riding ability or experience.
Anyone may join the Club, which holds regular meetings, organizes trail rides, and participates in horse oriented activities. The Equestrian Club itself does not compete in any shows, but we still have a good time! Â
Students may also join the Equestrian Team, which is the Club’s competitive branch. The Washington College Equestrian Team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association and competes in Zone 3 Region 5. We have active English and Western team.
IHSA does not restrict athletes like other college sports, and riders of all levels are allowed to compete at IHSA sponsored shows. Unlike traditional United States Equestrian Federation shows, host schools provide the horses and tack used in intercollegiate competitions, so members of our Club and Team are not required to own their own horses. The team rides out of the Granite Springs Stable under Head Coach Bryan Bradley. For more information, please contact:
