Dan Philippon

Dan Philippon was named head coach of the Washington College men's and women's golf teams in August 2022.  The men’s program began play in fall 2023 for the first time as a varsity program since 1961.

In 2023-24, the team competed in 10 tournaments, including the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic in the squad’s first competition in over six decades.

The 2024-25 season saw the team host their first event since the program was restarted in March, the Washington College Spring Invitational.

Philippon has served as the PGA Head Golf Professional at the Chester River Yacht & Country Club (CRYCC) since July 2020 and will continue in that role while also tutoring the Shoremen and Shorewomen. His main duty at the club is to oversee the club's golf operation in compliance with club rules, policies, and standards for quality.

Prior to being the PGA Head Golf Professional at CRYCC, he worked in the golf industry in Connecticut, Florida, Rhode Island and Vermont.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Maine and went on to earn an AAB in Golf Complex Management & Operations from the Golf Academy of Arizona.

Philippon is also a talented player and is a two-time winner of the Fishers Island Club Pro-Pro. He held the Misquamicut Club course record (63) and his personal lowest round stands at 62 (-10).
