Brian Cotter joined the Washington College Men’s Basketball staff as an assistant coach in the fall of 2025.
Brian has spent the past 15 years as an assistant basketball coach at Saints Peter and Paul High School in Easton, Maryland. During those years, Coach Cotter helped Saints Peter and Paul reach the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) Class C Championship eight times, while winning the MIAA Class C Championship four of those eight years.
At Saints Peter and Paul, Coach Cotter was a resource for player development, game preparation, and fostering a positive team culture. His coaching philosophy centered on individual skill development, strategic thinking on the court, and teaching life skills to all members of the team.
Coach Cotter received his undergraduate degree from Duquesne University, a master’s degree in Pharmacoeconomics from the University of Florida, and a master’s degree in nonprofit administration from the University of Notre Dame. He has worked for the past 40 years as a healthcare executive and is currently self-employed as a nonprofit consultant.
