Box Score Ripple Makes Six Saves in
Loss
CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Muhlenberg College
scored both of its goals in the second half of a 2-0 Centennial
Conference women's soccer win over host Washington College this
afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Mules
improved to 6-5 overall and 3-1 in conference play with the win,
while the Shorewomen fell to 5-5-1 and 1-3.
Muhlenberg held a 7-1 advantage in shots in the
first half, though each team had just one shot on goal.
The Mules took a 1-0 lead on an own goal when
Kimberly Hacker sent a corner kick crossing in
front of the goal which a Washington defender accidentally played
into the goal while trying to clear at the 52:07 mark. Muhlenberg
made it 2-0 when Maggie Neary sent a pass ahead on
a break to Meghan O'Grady who scored at 63:34.
Michele Toher made one saves in
the win for Muhlenberg, while sophomore goalkeeper Tori
Ripple (Baltimore, MD/John Carroll) posted six saves for
the Shorewomen in the loss.
The Mules outshot the Shorewomen, 16-4, in the game
and finished with an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a
4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Ursinus.
