Box Score CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting Haverford College
scored two goals in each half of a 4-0 Centennial Conference
women's soccer win over host Washington College tonight on Kibler
Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Fords upped their record to
10-2-2 overall and 5-2 in conference play with the win, while the
Shorewomen slipped to 5-8-1 and 1-6 with the loss.
The Fords took a 1-0 lead at the 9:42 mark when
Hannah Davis sent a long ball to the left side of
the net and Katie Van Aken knocked it in for the
goal. Haverford scored again at 41:57 when Elizabeth
Levitan scored off a cross ahead from Sarah
Andrade.
Haverford notched its third goal on a well-executed
corner kick. Anna Rayne lofted the ball into the
middle of the box where Katie Van Aken headed it
in for the tally at 59:34. Levitan scored the Fords' fourth goal at
88:37 off a transition pass from Allie Chen.
Sophomore goalkeeper Tori Ripple
(Baltimore, MD/John Carroll) played the first 66:02 for
the Shorewomen, making eight saves and allowing three goals. Senior
Caroline Grier (Kennett Square, PA/Sanford School,
DE) played the rest of the way and allowed the fourth
goal. Kayleigh Herrick-Reynolds made one save in
the shutout for the Fords.
Haverford held a 20-1 advantage in shots and an 8-1
margin in corner kicks in the game.
The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a
4:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against McDaniel.
