CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Visiting 25th-ranked Haverford
College defeated host Washington College, 3-0 (25-13, 25-11,
25-16), in Centennial Conference volleyball action on Wednesday
evening at the Cain Athletic Center. The Fords improve to 23-3
overall and 6-0 in the Centennial Conference on the season, while
the Shorewomen fall to 9-13 overall and 0-7 in conference play.
Haverford's Rebecca Salvo led all
players with nine kills and five service aces in the win, while
Kate Comey had a match-best 26 assists. The Fords
served up 13 aces in the match. Franny Glick,
Kelsey Cantwell and Caitlyn
Tranquillo had eight digs, which was tops on the Fords.
For Washington, junior libero Traci
Daelemans (Tracys Landing, MD/Southern) had 10 digs to
lead all players. Senior setter Caitlin Ward (Wantagh,
NY/Holy Trinity) had 16 assists in the contest for the
Shorewomen.
Washington returns to action on Saturday with a
home tri-match. The Shorewomen host McDaniel in Centennial
Conference action at noon, and will entertain Lancaster Bible at 4
p.m. in a non-conference match. McDaniel and Lancaster Bible will
play at 2 p.m.
