Box Score COLLEGEVILLE, PA -- Third-ranked host Ursinus
College built a 6-0 halftime lead en route to a 9-0 Centennial
Conference field hockey victory over visiting Washington College
tonight in Collegeville, PA. The Bears remained perfect in
conference play at 9-0 and improved to 15-2 overall with the win,
while the Shorewomen dropped to 6-10 overall and 3-6 with the loss.
Ursinus also clinched the top seed in the upcoming Centennial
Conference Tournament with the victory.
The Bears held a 23-2 advantage in shots in the
first half and a 36-7 advantage in the game. Bridget
Resetco scored three goals for Ursinus, while Jen
Hooven had two goals and an assist and Jessica
Zatwarnicki added one goal and two assists. Megan
Yoder notched a pair of assists, while Michelle
Wimmer, Jennifer Bayzick, and
Alyssa Thren each contributed a goal for the
Bears.
Senior goalkeeper Elena Nicholoff
(Tunkhannock, PA/Lackawanna Trail) made 13 saves in the
loss for the Shorewomen in the first 47:30. Junior goalkeeper
Shannon Davis (Sykesville, MD/Liberty) played the
rest of the game and made four saves, while allowing the final
goal.
The Shorewomen close out the regular season
Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Dickinson.
