Box Score CARLISLE, PA -- Host Dickinson College scored four
second-half goals en route to a 6-0 Centennial Conference women's
soccer win over visiting Washington College this afternoon in
Carlisle, PA. The Red Devils head into next week's Centennial
Conference Playoffs with a 14-3 overall record and a 7-3 mark in
conference play. The Shorewomen conclude their season at 6-10-1 and
2-8.
The Red Devils got on the board just 2:31 into the
game when Ashley Fields, who finished the game
with three goals and two assists, scored off a feed from
Genevieve Olson. Fields scored again at 16:07 to
give Dickinson a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Olson connected with Fields for Dickinson's first
goal of the second half at 47:39 and Kim Callaghan
made it 4-0 just 1:21 later. Fields assisted on a goal by
Marissa Kunkle at 53:38 and was one of two players
- the other was Olson - to assist on a goal by Casey
Reilly at 60:55.
Sophomore goalkeeper Tori Ripple
(Baltimore, MD/John Carroll) played the first 54:15 for
Washington, making 10 saves and allowing five goals. Senior
Caroline Grier (Kennett Square, PA/Sanford School,
DE) played the rest of the way between the pipes and
allowed the final goal.
Dickinson held a 27-5 advantage in shots and a 9-3
edge in corner kicks in the game.
Despite the loss, the Shorewomen's six wins this
season represented their highest single-season win total since
winning eight games in 2002 and surpassed their win total from the
previous three seasons combined.
