Box Score Nicholoff Tallies 12 Saves in Final
Game
CARLISLE, PA -- A first-half goal proved to be all
the offense host Dickinson College needed in a 1-0 Centennial
Conference field hockey win over visiting Washington College this
afternoon in Carlisle, PA. The Red Devils conclude the season 7-10
overall and 5-5 in conference play, while the Shorewomen finish
6-11 and 3-7. Five of Washington's seven conference losses this
season came by 1-0 final scores.
Leah Kaplan scored the only goal
of the game with 11:36 left in the first half off an assist by
Lizzie Boorse during a penalty corner. Dickinson
held a 13-0 advantage in shots and a 14-1 advantage in penalty
corners in the first half and finished the game with 24-3 and 20-5
margins in those categories, respectively.
Amanda West made three saves in
the shutout for Dickinson. Senior goalkeeper Elena
Nicholoff (Tunkhannock, PA/Lackawanna Trail) made 12 saves
in her final collegiate game for Washington. She leaves the program
as its all-time leader in career saves with 584.
