Glasser Wins Three Individual
Events
CHESTERTOWN, MD - Junior Rachel Glasser
(Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) won three individual
events as host Washington College defeated visiting Dickinson,
117-88, in Centennial Conference women's swimming this afternoon
inside Cain Athletic Center. The Shorewomen improved to 6-2 overall
and 2-2 in conference meets with the win, while the Red Devils fell
to 4-3 and 2-2 with the loss.
Glasser won the 200 freestyle in 1:58.25, the 200
butterfly in 2:10.87, and the 500 freestyle in 5:15.15. Senior
Kathy Gerhart (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville Area)
won the 200 individual medley in 2:18.80 and the 100 freestyle in
55.96. Freshman Darcy Zink (Baltimore, MD/Towson)
captured the 200 backstroke in 2:21.24, while freshman
Melanie Craig (Newtown, PA/Council Rock) won the
200 breaststroke in 2:35.04.
Senior Amy Smith (Phoenixville,
PA/Phoenixville Area), sophomore Jenna Moore
(Catonsville, MD/Mount de Sales Academy), Gerhart, and
sophomore Morgan Phillips (Charlottesville,
VA/Albemarle) were winners in the 400 medley relay in
4:13.02.
Moore added a second-place finish in the 50
freestyle in 25.29, while Phillips was second in the 200 backstroke
in 2:22.50.
The Shorewomen return to action one week from today
with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference meet at Ursinus.
