Box Score ASHLAND, VA -- Bridgewater College scored the
game's only goal in the 83rd minute to down the Washington College
men's soccer team, 1-0, today at the Randolph-Macon Select
Tournament in Ashland, VA.
The Eagles (1-4) broke a scoreless tie at the 82:50
mark when Ryan Morgan scored off a double assist
from Kevin Gorman and Adam Riner.
The Shoremen (1-3) got two shots off in the final minutes, but one
went high and the other was blocked.
Washington tallied 20 shots in the game, led by three
from junior forward Jordan Haas
(Wyomissing, PA/Wilson), but could not find the back of
the net. Bridgewater had 13 shots in the game. The
Shoremen also recorded eight of the game's 10 corner kicks.
Bridgewater goalkeeper Travis Morris
made 10 saves for the Eagles. Junior Chris Phipps
(Newark, DE/St. Mark's) made five stops for
Washington.
Sophomore midfielder/defender Tim Marcin
(Wilmington, DE/Concord) was the Shoremen's representative
on the All-Tournament Team.
The Shoremen return to action Wednesday with a 7:00
p.m. home game against Goucher.
