Box Score BALTIMORE, MD -- Seventh-ranked host Johns Hopkins
University scored four first-half goals and went on to post a 7-0
win over visiting Washington College in the Centennial Conference
women's soccer opener for both teams this afternoon in
Baltimore.
Taylor Schulte got the Blue Jays
(6-1 overall) off to a quick start, scoring a goal just 2:45 into
the contest. Erin Stafford followed with the Blue
Jays' second goal at 21:50. Allie Zazzali
increased the Hopkins lead to 3-0 with a goal at 32:14. The margin
grew to 4-0 before halftime when Amanda Yaccarino
scored off an assist from Sara Tankard at
40:55.
The Blue Jays' fifth goal came at 55:54 when
Christina Convey scored off an assist from
Zazzali. Paulina Goodman score the sixth Hopkins
goal off an assist from Pamela Vranis at 59:46.
The final Hopkins goal was scored by Tankard off a Yaccarino assist
at 83:48.
Junior goalkeeper Tori Ripple
(Baltimore, MD/John Carroll) made a career-high 19 saves
in the loss for the Shorewomen (2-2-1). The Blue Jays held a 44-2
advantage in shots in the game.
The Shorewomen return to action Thursday with a 7:00
p.m. non-conference game at Wesley.
