Box Score Breslin Nets Game-High 18 Points For WC
CHESTERTOWN, MD – Visiting Dickinson College rallied from a 32-31 halftime deficit to score a 66-61 victory over host Washington College on Thursday night at the Cain Athletic Center in Centennial Conference men's basketball action. The Red Devils improve to 7-7 overall and 5-2 in conference play, while the Shoremen drop to 4-10 and 3-4 respectively.
Dickinson would score 11 of the first 17 points of the second half to take a 42-38 lead with 15:11 left in the game on a pair of Chris Barsanti free throws. Washington would take its last lead of the night with 12:49 to go on a jumper by junior guard/forward Kevin Breslin (Hagerstown, MD/St. Maria Goretti). The Red Devils would take control of the game with a 13-2 run over the next 7:33 to take their largest lead of the game at 57-47 with 5:16 left on the clock on Chris Heine free throw. The Shoremen would get it as close as five points with five seconds to go on a Breslin layup, but could draw no closer.
Matt Dolan scored 13 points to lead Dickinson and tied for tops in the game with eight rebounds. Heine netted 12 points, while Adam Honig added 10 points. Honig handed out a team-best four assists, while Dolan blocked a game-high two shots. The Red Devils shot 47% from the floor in the win.
Breslin led all players with 18 points and tied Dolan for tops in boards with eight. Sophomore forward Charlie McShane (West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) added 13 points off the bench, while Adam Naymick (Hanover, PA/Delone Catholic) scored 11 points. The Shoremen shot just 36% from the field in the loss.
The Shoremen return to action on Saturday afternoon against 18th-ranked Franklin & Marshall at the Cain Athletic Center in conference play. Tip-off time at the Cain Athletic Center is 2:00 p.m.
