Cavaliers Hold on for 2-1 Win Over Shorewomen

Bradley Scores Shorewomen's Goal in Loss

RADNOR, PA -- Host Cabrini College scored twice in the first half and hung on for a 2-1 non-conference women's soccer victory over visiting Washington College this afternoon in Radnor, PA. 

Cabrini (4-4-1) got on the board at 20:28 as Danna Drake scored off an assist from Kara Hinkelmon. Hinkelmon sent a cross to a cutting Drake who buried the ball into the net. Devon Miller gave the Cavalier a two-goal cushion at 44:04, scoring on a breakaway. Each team recorded four shots in the first half.

Washington (2-6-1) got a goal on the board at 76:06 as junior forward Katie Bradley (Havre de Grace, MD/Fallston) scored on a chip shot from 25 yards out. The Shorewomen's final chance to even the score came at 86:34, but a shot off the foot of senior forward Kira Pancotti (Briarcliff Manor, NY/Briarcliff) was saved by Cabrini goalkeeper Maddy Edwards

Pancotti's shot gave Washington a slim 7-6 advantage in shots in the game. Cabrini had a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.  

The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Swarthmore.
