CARLISLE, PA -- Host Dickinson College defeated visiting Washington College, 3-0, in the Centennial Conference men's soccer opener for both schools this afternoon in Carlisle, PA.

The Red Devils' (6-0) first goal of the day came at 20:24 when Chris Shultz scored off a double assist from Nicolas Tierno and Javier Mena. Dickinson recorded all eight of the game's first-half shots and all three of its first-half corner kicks. 

Shultz scored Dickinson's second goal just 51 seconds into the second half and Shepherd Waldenberger added the Red Devils' third goal on a penalty kick at 51:05.

Washington senior defender Justin Geho (Westminster, MD/Cardinal Gibbons) recorded the Shoremen's (1-3) first shot on goal of the game at 60:51, but it was saved by Dickinson goalkeeper Cody Hickok. Geho got off another shot on goal at 64:19, but again Hickok came up with the save. 

The Red Devils finished with a 16-4 advantage in shots and a 5-3 edge in corner kicks in the game. Hickok's two saves against Geho were enough to pick up the shutout. Senior goalkeeper Tyler Cabot (Hightstown, NJ/Peddie School) made eight saves in the loss for Washington.

The Shoremen return to action one week from today with a 7:00 p.m. home game against Gettysburg.
