Mules Make Lone Goal Stand Up in 1-0 Win Over Shorewomen

Barry Makes Seven Saves in Loss

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- A goal by Abby Lazofsky in the 60th minute proved to be all the offense host Muhlenberg College needed today en route to a 1-0 Centennial Conference women's soccer win over visiting Washington College. The Mules improved to 5-5-1 overall and 2-2 with the win, while the Shorewomen fell to 3-5-2 and 0-3 with the loss. 

Muhlenberg held an 11-3 advantage in shots in the first half, but the Mules were held off the scoreboard in part due to five saves by Washington freshman goalkeeper Melissa Barry (Sparta, N.J./Sparta)

The Mules got on the board at the 59:46 mark when Lazofsky scored off a pass from CJ Graetzer following a corner kick by Stephanie Tramutola. Barry made two more saves following the goal to finish with seven in the contest.

Muhlenberg goalkeeper Amanda Wong made four saves en route to the shutout as the Mules finishes with a 16-6 advantage in shots. Senior midfielder Heather Smith (Glen Burnie, Md./Glen Burnie) accounted for half of Washington's shots in the game. 

The Shorewomen return to action Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Bryn Mawr.
