CARLISLE, Pa. – Luca May scored on a penalty kick in the 27th minute to lift host #24 Dickinson to a 1-0 victory over visiting Washington College on Saturday afternoon in a Centennial Conference men's soccer match at Miller Field.  The Red Devils, who clinched a spot in the conference tournament improve to 12-4-1 overall and 5-3-1 in the conference, while the Shoremen finish their season at 8-8-1 and 2-6-1.  The eight victories for the Shoremen are the most since winning eight times in 2006.

Dickinson was awarded the penalty kick at the 26:48 mark following a foul by the Shoremen in the box.  May scored his first goal of season on the penalty kick.

The Shoremen had two chances in the second half to tie it, but could not convert, both by junior midfielder Matt Wilfong (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll).  His first shot at the 58:34 mark was saved by Dickinson goalkeeper Jeremy Palcan and his second chance came with 3:15 left in the contest, but his shot sailed high. Wilfong had all three of Washington's shots in the contest.

Dickinson held a 27-3 edge in shots in the contest and had a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks.  Palcan made one save to record the shutout for the Red Devils.  For the Shoremen, freshman goalkeeper Jon Wendeborn (Lambertville, N.J./South Hunterdon) made a career-best seven saves for the Shoremen in the first half, while junior goalkeeper Lin Robinson (York, Pa./York Country Day) stopped a personal-best six shots in the second half.

Today marked the final game in a Shoremen uniform for four seniors, forward George Gabriel (Cambridge, England/Hinchingbrooke School), back Josh Goheen (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll), midfielder Chris Nardo (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex) and midfielder Sam Wild (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks West).
