Box Score Barry Makes Seven Saves in Shutout
BRYN MAWR, Pa. -- The Washington College women's soccer team played to a 0-0 double overtime tie with host Bryn Mawr in a Centennial Conference game this afternoon.
Bryn Mawr (5-7-1, 1-4-1 Centennial) held a 6-1 advantage in shots over the Shorewomen (3-7-2, 0-4-1) in the first half, but Washington held a 12-10 advantage the rest of the way.
The final shot of regulation came off the foot of Washington freshman midfielder/forward Emani Silva (Odenton, Md./Arundel), but was saved by Bryn Mawr goalkeeper Aviva Kosansky at 88:43. In the first overtime, Bryn Mawr's Marcela Dorfsman-Hopkins put a header on goal at 96:48, but Washington sphomore goalkeeper Melissa Barry (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) made the stop.
Neither team put a shot on goal during the second overtime as Dorfsman-Hopkins sent a shot wide at 102:08 and Silva sent one high at 103:40.
Barry made seven saves for the Shorewomen, extending her own career school record to 11 shutouts. Kosansky made four saves for the Owls.
The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference game at Dickinson.
