Davis Scores For Washington From Miller

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Megan Quattrone scored 64 seconds into overtime for her second goal of the contest to give host McDaniel a 2-1 win over visiting Washington College in a Centennial Conference field hockey game on Saturday afternoon at Gill Stadium.  The Green Terror end their season at 8-9 overall and 3-7 in the Centennial, while the Shorewomen close out the campaign at 9-8 and 4-6 respectively.

How It Happened
-After a scoreless first half, Quattrone put the Green Terror on the board at the 41:18 mark as she received a Haley VanNostrand pass off of a penalty corner.  She dribbled in and her shot went off of a WC defender to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
-The Shorewomen would level the game at 1-1 just 9:27 later when Jenn Miller tipped in an Elizabeth Davis shot put it into the cage.
-Each team had one chance to win it in regulation.  VanNostrand's shot for McDaniel was turned away by Washington's Sadie Robertson with 11:55 remaining and the chance for Washington by Alli Dudley was stopped by McDaniel's Christina Gooding.
-Quattrone's winner came as she took a pass from Sara Reynolds, turned around and fired a shot into the cage for the walk-off score.

For The Shorewomen (9-8, 4-6 CC)
-Scorers: Miller (1 goal), Davis (1 assist)
-In Goal: Robertson (1 save, 2 goals allowed, 71:04)
-Washington had five shots and six penalty corners in the game.

For McDaniel (8-9, 3-7 CC)
-Scorers: Quattrone (2 goals), Reynolds (1 assist), VanNostrand (1 assist)
-In Goal: Gooding (2 saves, 1 goal allowed, 71:04)
-The Green Terror had six shots and 10 penalty corners in the win.

Notes
-Tonight marked the final game for seniors Robertson, Allison Grady, Jordan Mitchell and Sydney Sikon and junior Miller.  Miller is leaving a year early to attend pharmacy school.
-The Shorewomen had a winning record for the second straight season.  It is the first consecutive winning seasons for the program since three straight from 2001-03.
