#20 Diplomats Net 75-50 Win Over Shoremen

Knox Tallies Career-Best Three Blocked Shots

LANCASTER, Pa. - #20 Franklin & Marshall got a game-high 19 points from Hunter Eggers on its way to a 75-50 win over visiting Washington College at the Mayser Center in a Centennial Conference men's basketball game on Saturday afternoon.  The Diplomats improve to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the Centennial, while the Shoremen fall to 1-4 and 0-2 respectively.

How It Happened
-Washington led 7-6 with 17:36 left in the first half on a three-pointer by Pat Morgan before the Diplomats scored 11 consecutive points to take a 17-7 lead on a Eggers lay-in with 14:21 to go in the half.
-Up 17-12 with 12:42 left in the first half following a Joey Shelton basket for Washington, F&M scored eight straight points to grab a 25-12 lead with 10:19 to go on a Cedric Moune layup.
-The hosts would push the lead to 22 points at 36-14 with 5:14 remaining in the opening stanza on Jordan Phelps bucket. 
-Franklin & Marshall would lead by 24 at halftime, 44-20, a lead which they would have one two occasions in the last minute first half.
-The hosts would lead by as many as 31 points at 57-26 with 11:58 to go on a Nicholas Stern hoop.
-The Shoremen used a 16-4 run to reduce the Diplomats' lead to 61-42 with 8:13 to go on a Shelton traditional three-point play.  That was as close as Washington would come as F&M outscored the guests 31-30 in the second half.

For the Shoremen (1-4, 0-2 CC)
-Shelton (10 points), Morgan (10 points), Dave Knox (nine rebounds to tie for game-best and career-best three blocks to lead all players), Tas Dixon (game-high five assists)
-Washington shot 31% (15-for-48) from the floor, 35% (7-for-20) from beyond the arc and 62% (13-for-21) from the foul line.

For Franklin & Marshall (6-1, 3-0 CC)
-Eggers (19 points for game-high), Moune (14 points, nine rebounds to tie for tops in the game, three steals and two blocks), Brandon Federici (game-topping five steals and two blocks), Jared Wright (four assists)
-The Diplomats shot 48 (29-for-61) from the field, 35% (7-for-20) from three-point land and 56% (10-for-18) from the free throw stripe.
-F&M had 16 steals and forced 24 WC turnovers, while coughing it up just 14 times.
-Held a 41-36 edge on the boards.
-Outscored WC in points in the paint (34-14) and points off of turnovers (29-16).

Notes
-WC's Kevin McCormick went 3-for-5 from behind the arc for all nine of his points.  He is currently shooting 52% from three-point range after five games, going 14-for-27.
