Miller Scores Twice as Shorewomen Shut Down Mustangs, 4-0

Davis Reaches 50 Career Points in Victory

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Junior midfielder Elizabeth Davis (Earleville, Md./Bohemia Manor) scored one goal and assisted on another to reach 50 career points, while junior attack Jenn Miller (Westminster, Md./John Caroll) fired in two goals as the Washington College field hockey team blanked visiting Stevenson, 4-0, this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium.

How It Happened
- Miller gave the Shorewomen a 1-0 lead with 9:44 remaining in the first half when she scored off an assist from Davis during a penalty corner, lofting the ball over the head of Stevenson goalkeeper Gabriella Brooks.
- The Shorewomen held a 7-4 advantage in shots in the first half, limiting the Mustangs to just two shots on goal. Washington also had a 5-4 edge in penalty corners in the period.
- Miller made it 2-0 after she scored following a great transition run by Michaela Conners was foiled by the Mustang defense at the last minute. Miller took advantage of the loose ball, by blasting it high into the cage with 30:53 left in the game.
- Allison Remenapp tallied the Shorewomen's third goal on an assist from right in front of the cage by Allison Grady with 21:45 left. 
- Davis tacked on the Shorewomen's fourth goal with 1:31 remaining off a rebound, giving her exactly 50 points for her career.

- Davis is the 17th player in team history to reach 50 career points.

- The game against Hopkins will be the Shorewomen's conference opener.
- The Shorewomen will be looking to avenge a pair of one-goal losses to the Blue Jays from last season. Hopkins won the regular-season match-up, 1-0, in double overtime, and captured the Centennial Conference Tournament's first-round game, 3-2, after scoring three goals in the final 18 minutes.
