Box Score Morgan Paces Shoremen with 16 Points in Loss
CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Visiting Swarthmore College took a 15-point lead into halftime and led by double figures throughout the second half en route to an 84-62 Centennial Conference men's basketball win over host Washington College tonight inside Cain Athletic Center.

How It Happened
- Swarthmore held a 7-6 lead just over four minutes into the game before going on an 18-4 run over a 6:46 span to build a 25-10 cushion on a three-pointer by Henry Cousineau with 9:07 to go in the first half.
- The Shoremen scored eight of the next nine points to get back within eight at 26-18 on a Dave Knox jumper with 5:59 to play before halftime. Swarthmore pulled away again later in the half, however, finishing the period with eight straight points prior to Aaron Geschwilm converting a lay-up for the Shoremen with seven seconds left in the half. The Garnet held a 44-29 lead at halftime.
- Swarthmore opened the second half with seven straight points as the advantage grew to 22 points at 51-29 on a Zack Yonda jumper with 16:54 remaining. The Garnet led by at least 14 points the rest of the way.
For the Shoremen (3-19, 1-14 Centennial Conference)
- Pat Morgan scored 16 points, converting four of his six three-point attempts. James Drury added 12 points for Washington
- The Shoremen shot 16-for-19 from the foul line in the loss.
For Swarthmore (17-5, 11-4 Centennial Conference)
- Robbie Walsh scored 20 points for the Garnet, shooting 8-for-8 from the field, blocked seven shots, and pulled down eight rebounds.
- Sean Thaxter added 12 points, while Cam Wiley scored 11 and Matt Brennan chipped in 10.
- The Garnet held a 41-29 advantage in rebounds in the game.
