BALTIMORE, Md. — Clare Kavanagh scored the game-winning goal with just 2:24 remaining in the second overtime to lift host Johns Hopkins to a 2-1 victory over visiting Washington College in the Centennial Conference field hockey opener for both teams tonight at Homewood Field.

How It Happened
- The Blue Jays took a 1-0 lead with 4:20 left in the first half when Kavanagh scored off an assist from Austin Davis during a penalty corner.
- The Shorewomen had a shot on goal during a penalty corner at the end of the first half, but a shot by Elizabeth Davis was stopped by Hopkins goalkeeper Greta Helvie.
- Elizabeth Davis eventually did tie the score with 4:10 left in regulation, knocking in a loose ball from the left side during a corner.
- Neither team put a shot on goal in the first overtime as the Shorewomen had two shots go wide and Hopkins had one.
- Austin Davis recorded a shot on goal for the Blue Jays with 7:36 left in the second overtime that was stopped by Washington goalkeeper Morgan Domanico.
- Kavanagh's game-winner came off an assist from VIctoria Piscopo right in front of the goal.
