Bullets Defeat Shorewomen, 2-0

GETTYSBURG, Pa. — Host Gettysburg College scored once in each half en route to a 2-0 win over visiting Washington College in a Centennial Conference women's soccer game played this afternoon on Clark Field in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The Bullets improve to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the CC with the win, while the Shorewomen slip to 4-3-1 and 0-2 in the CC with the loss.

How It Happened
- Gettysburg grabbed a 1-0 lead just 3:18 into the contest when Jessica Cuttone grabbed a rebound off of her own corner kick and arched a shot over Shorewomen goalkeeper Courtney Colbert from 30 yards out on the right wing.
- The first shot of the day for the Shorewomen came with 21:43 to play in the half, a shot from Olivia Sabatino, which missed wide to the left.
- Erin Smedley put a shot on goal with 14:35 to play in the half, but the shot was saved by Gettysburg goalkeeper Kiera Loftus. It was the last shot either team took in the first half.
- Brooke Priddy put a shot on goal just one minute into the second half, but Colbert came up with the save.
-Virginia Sanford registered the next shot on goal for the Bullets with 14:59 to play, but Colbert was able to make the save.
-Gettysburg extended the lead to 2-0 with 14:07 to go when Sanford headed home a corner kick from Alexa Bushey.
-The Shorewomen registered four more shots after the goal, including a pair of shots on goal by Maribeth Harrington and a shot on goal by Paige Cahoon, but Loftus stopped all three shots to preserve the shutout.

- Scorers: None.
- Goalkeeper: Colbert (2 saves, 2 goals allowed, 90:00).
- The Shorewomen registered 6 shots in the loss, four of them on goal.

For Gettysburg (5-2, 2-0 CC)
- Scorers: Cuttone (1 goal), Sanford (1 goal), Bushey (1 assist).
- Goalkeeper: Loftus (4 saves, 0 goals allowed, 90:00).
- The Bullets took 9 shots in the win/loss and earned all 13 of the games corner kicks.
