Brandt, E. Pantazes Score in Loss for Shorewomen

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Visiting Johns Hopkins University scored the only goal of the second half to earn a 3-2 Centennial Conference field hockey win over host Washington College this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium.

How It Happened
- Despite a barrage of early Blue Jay corners, the Shorewomen struck first when Kailyn Brandt redirected in a ball at the far post sent initially by Clare Ingersoll with 25:22 to go in the first half.
- The Blue Jays tied things up when Lucy Reider scored off an assist from Valerie Henderson on a give-and-go in transition with 17:15 to go before halftime. Hopkins took the lead on a rebound goal by Princess Sutherland just 89 seconds later.
- Washington evened the score when Emily Pantazes scored at the near post on a rebound with 8:31 remaining in the first half.
- Clare Kavanagh put the Blue Jays back in front, 3-2, when she scored the game-winner on a reverse-stick goal on a loose ball in front with 13:38 left in the second half.

- The Blue Jays held a 19-10 advantage in shots and a 12-6 edge in penalty corners in the game.

- Brandt was named the Goose Nation TV Shorewomen Player of the Game on the webcast of the contest.
