Box Score Dennis Stops Eight Shots for Shorewomen; Shevitz Records Defensive Save
SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Host Swarthmore scored two goals in a 59.7 second span of the late first and early second quarters on its way to a 3-0 win over visiting Washington College in a Centennial Conference field hockey game on Wednesday night at Clothier Field. The Garnet improve to 9-3 overall and 3-2 in the Centennial, while Shorewomen fall to 5-7 and 1-4 respectively.

How It Happened
- Zoe Shevitz notched her first career defensive save 6:56 into the first quarter as she denied the Garnet's Deborah Kim a goal.
- Swarthmore cashed in on its first penalty corner late in the first quarter for the game's opening goal as Sophia Hitchingham scored from near the left post on a feed from Grace Fuseller with 8.7 seconds left in the first quarter.
- Just 51 seconds into the second quarter, the Garnet made it 2-0 off of a penalty corner as Katherine Kohn scored from the right goalmouth with Chelsea Semper netting the helper.
- Emily Hapgood made it 3-0 as she scored on a loose ball in the circle with 4:15 to go in the second quarter. The Garnet would take the 3-0 lead into halftime as they took all 10 shots in the first half.
- The Shorewomen got their first shot of the game 1:52 into the third quarter by Kate Gromacki, but it was saved by Garnet goalie Victoria Kimmel.
- Swarthmore's Amanda Roessler chalked up a defensive save with 1:50 to go in the third to deny Washington College's Kat Esposito a goal to preserve the shutout.
- In the fourth quarter, Samantha Meacock registered a defensive save of her own to keep the shutout intact as she stopped a Cristen Quillen shot with 7:05 remaining in the game.
- Anna Harrington had the last shot to get WC on the board with 2:12 left, but her shot was saved by Kimmel.
